Your first step to becoming a licensed MLO.

• Start Account: Click "Log into NMLS" → "Request an Account."
• Account Type: Select "Individual" as your type.
• Verify: Complete the form and check your email to receive your NMLS ID.
Keep this ID safe! You’ll need it to register for classes, book your exam, and apply for your license.

20-Hour Course
• Prerequisite: Ensure you have your NMLS ID from Step 1.
• Approved Education: Complete the 20 hours of NMLS-approved
• Next Goal: Finish this to unlock your National Exam scheduling.

03: Schedule &
Study for Your MLO Test

• Book Your Exam: Log into your NMLS account to select your testing date.

04: Master the Practice Tests

Confidence is 90% of the battle.
• The 90% Rule: Don't just "pass"—take practice tests until you consistently score 90% or higher.
• Knowledge Retention: These tests simulate the real exam environment to reduce test-day anxiety.

& Get Started!
• The Goal: Achieve a score of 75% or higher on the SAFE National Exam.
• Snap a Photo: Take a clear photo or screenshot of your official passing results.
